Who we are
4download is a software download site. We gather programs for Windows, macOS, and Linux in one place, so you don’t have to dig through a dozen sites to find a single plugin.
People come here for audio plugins, video editors, design tools, and developer software. Every program gets its own page with the details you need before you download.
When a link breaks, tell us and we’ll look at it.
What you’ll find
Audio plugins and VST
Synths, effects, mastering tools, and sample-based instruments for producers. Check each page for the plugin format and the systems it supports.
Digital audio workstations
DAWs for recording, arranging, and mixing. Producers use them for full tracks, and podcasters use them for voice work.
Graphic design software
Photo editors, vector tools, and layout apps for designers, illustrators, and anyone who edits images.
Video editing tools
Editors, motion graphics tools, and converters. File sizes run large here, so check your free disk space first.
Utilities and system tools
Cleaners, file managers, archive tools, and the small programs that make a PC easier to live with.
Programming software
Code editors, compilers, and developer tools that run on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Who uses 4Download
Music producers hunting for a synth or a mastering plugin. Video editors who need a new editor or a codec pack.
Designers grabbing an image tool or a font manager. Students and developers who need a compiler or an editor for a project.
If you make things on a computer, there’s a good chance something here is useful to you.
How 4Download works
Find it
Type the program’s name into the search bar at the top of the site. You can also browse by category or open the Windows and macOS listings.
Download it
Open the software’s page and click the download button. A short countdown runs, then a Download Now button appears.
If you use an ad blocker, pause it for this site first. The countdown won’t run without that.
Install it
Most downloads come as ZIP or RAR archives. Extract them with WinRAR or 7-Zip, read any instructions file inside, then run the installer.
Some archives have a password. It’s usually printed on the download page or inside the instructions.
Before you download
Check the system requirements
Look at the Windows or macOS version the program needs, plus the RAM and disk space. A plugin that wants 8 GB of RAM won’t run well on a 4 GB laptop.
Free up disk space
Video editors and sample libraries can pass 10 GB. The extracted files take more room than the archive, so leave at least double the download size free.
Make a restore point
On Windows, create a system restore point before you install anything big. If something breaks, you can roll back in a few minutes.
Back up your projects
Copy your music, video, and design projects somewhere else before you install a new version of the program you use to make them.
Staying safe
Antivirus tools flag compressed and unfamiliar files all the time. Sometimes that’s a false positive. Sometimes it’s a real threat, and the alert alone can’t tell you which.
So scan every file before you install it. Leave your antivirus on, and if a file only works with your protection switched off, skip it.
And if you depend on a program for work, buy it from the developer. That keeps the people who build it paid.
What our support covers
Support handles website and download problems: broken links, files that won’t open, account access, and re-upload requests. We also consider software requests, depending on availability.
Remote desktop help, one-on-one installs, and DAW or plugin troubleshooting are outside what we do.
Our mission
We want finding the right software to take a few minutes. That means clear pages, working links, and plain notes about what can go wrong.
Requests and feedback
Missing a program? Tell us the name and the version you need. We read every request, and we add what we can.
Spotted a mistake on a page, an outdated version, or a dead link? Send that too. It’s how pages get better.
Get in touch
Message us with the software name and a short description of the problem, and we’ll look into it.
